Rooted in South City
Raising kids in South City has shaped my commitment to our community. I want them—and every child here—to grow up in a place where families feel supported, neighborhoods are safe and resilient, and everyone has the opportunity to build a fulfilling life. Today, my kids are in preschool and kindergarten. I find myself seeing our community through their eyes, as we move through South City's schools, parks, community spaces, and streets. I see the vibrant, diverse culture that makes South City special. I see how neighbors of all generations show up for each other. I also see the barriers that can make it hard for people to thrive in the place we call home.
Experience in action
My work is driven by what I learn from my kids and neighbors: the need for housing solutions, family supports, and vibrant communities. As Chair of the Planning Commission, I help shape the growth of South City—reviewing housing, local business, and infrastructure projects with a focus on community benefit and positive long-term impact. Regionally, I serve on the San Mateo County Commission on the Status of Women, where we elevate the voices of women and girls, which helped launch the county's first-ever Childcare Blueprint. And my daily work supports local governments to pass policies that keep communities stable and housed—resulting in stronger neighborhoods and families across the Bay Area.
Why I'm running
South San Francisco stands at a pivotal moment. We have a proud history as a city of diversity, industry, and innovation. Today, we must manage the changes facing our community in a way that honors our past while securing a prosperous future for everyone. I am running for City Council because I believe we can navigate this time in a way that is true to our community's values. I believe in a South City that continues to grow and lead the way—without leaving anyone behind. We all win when residents can afford their homes, when families have the supports they need to thrive, and when neighborhoods are vibrant and connected. This will take all of us, from all corners of the community, building solutions together.
